Many buyers of waterfront homes are drawn to homes for sale in beautiful Punta Gorda Isles, as the largest of the few deed restricted communities with sailboat access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. The area character is fostered and nurtured by the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. The city of Punta Gorda maintains the canals and concrete seawalls. You can find canal front living and wide water views in Punta Gorda. It is no surprise that Isles Yacht Club has been a long-time fixture of Punta Gorda Isles. Popular Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club, with its splendid views of Charlotte Harbor, is located on the north side of the harbor in Port Charlotte. There are about 28 marinas and 13 boat ramps in the Charlotte County area. Charlotte Harbor and Gulf of Mexico fishing is great. Charlotte County is famous for tarpon fishing. There are many fishing piers in the area. Look for tarpon, redfish, snook, snapper, grouper, flounder and more. Golfers, there are more than 25 golf courses in the Charlotte County area.

You’ll enjoy clean air and natural beauty, a low crime rate and no major traffic problems. Major airports are easily accessible RSW (Southwest Florida International) is about 30 miles south in Fort Myers. SRQ (Sarasota Bradenton International Airport) is an hour away. If you’re visiting Naples, Bonita Springs or Fort Myers take a drive to Punta Gorda, the small town jewel of Florida, where waterfront real estate is still affordable!
