Fitness News & Happenings
February 2008
- February Fitness Awards: The Temple trio, Cheryl, Ralph and
son Rick, are this month’s fitness honorees. Ralph is the most diligent.
He exercises daily for cardio health and weight control. Rick credits
his strength training for improving his mental and physical stamina, and
his tennis game as well. Cheryl is an exercise “newbie,” and has done
little or no exercising her entire life. With Kerry’s encouragement and
personal training, Cheryl is recognizing the importance of exercise to
prevent bone loss. The Temples remind us that no matter why or how much
or how little you exercise, it’s more important that you “Just Do It!”
- Starting Feb. 20! It’s Core More! Kerry’s initial Yoga and
Pilates Fusion class was so well received that she will continue to
offer weekly beginners’ level Yoga and Pilates classes every Wednesday
at 9 a.m. This program focuses on the basics of developing your core.
The core, also known as the powerhouse of your body, are the muscles
located in your lower back and abdominal area. Experts confirm that
strengthening the core is the foundation for fitness.
This on-going weekly program is intended to accommodate seasonal
residents or those who have less flexible schedules. Previous experience
is not required. Each session is $10/residents and $12/guests. Take
advantage of this opportunity to experience the healthy benefits of Yoga
and Pilates. Advanced reservations are necessary. Please contact Kerry
to reserve a convenient time.
Note: If you participated in Kerry’s initial six-week Yoga and Pilates
Fusion class and are interested in continuing, then contact Kerry so she
can schedule a more advanced program.
- Special Training Package for Newbies! For those of you who
want to get started on an exercise program, Kerry will design a program
that’s right for you. This month Kerry is offering a special 12-session
package for $450. Now is the time to start developing a healthier you!

- 5K Events: Let Kerry know if you are interested in
participating in local 5K events. She can provide you with the details
and more importantly the necessary preparatory training. Contact Kerry,
and she will be happy to assist. It would be great to start a Vivante
running team.
- Boot Camp: Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.
- Friendly Reminder: Please remember to sign in when you use
the fitness center. It helps management monitor usage, schedule periodic
maintenance of equipment and order a sufficient number of supplies.
Thank you.
